It is hybrid form of Rangani flower. The natural colour of these flowers is red. A relative of mine gave me the hybrid seeds. These have red, yellow and white colours in various combinations.
The latest flower in my garden is the football lily. It is a multiple flower of pink colour and its size is slightly less than that of a football. It blooms just after the first rain in May. I have light pink, deep pink, yellow and white coloured lilies. These are of small size.
No. I do not have it. Or, is the football lily also called as May flower as it blooms only in May? BTW, my football lilies have dried up and vanished. Their place has been taken by green leafy plants which will grow till end of rainy season and then disappear into the ground. And then the flower will rmerge as if from nowhere after the first rain in May next year.
Yes, it thrives in hot weather. You have to procure the bulb of the plant (looks like an onion) which lies under the ground. Now is the time to procure the bulbs since the leafy plant is growing over the ground.
6th one. Which one is that? White and Pink? :) You must be having a biiiiiiiiiiiig garden! My dad will go mad if he will see your garden! :)

ReplyDeleteYes, it disappears into the ground every year. One cannot find any trace of the plant from Sept.-Oct to April.
ReplyDeleteOh! That's awesome. Do you think it can grow in the hot weather like one of Ahmedabad? I dont know, was wondering if I can get it for my dad.
