Singapore Trip - Photo Gallery IV - River Safari

During our visit to Singapore, Daughter II took us to the River Safari too.

It is the newest addition to Wildlife Reserves Singapore’s portfolio of award-winning parks. Nestled between the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari, River Safari offers an unforgettable adventure inspired by the world’s most iconic rivers - Mississippi, Congo, Nile, Ganges, Mekong and Yangtze. This $160-million attraction features state-of-the-art exhibit design as well as the world's largest freshwater aquarium. Housing one of the largest collections of freshwater fauna in the world, the park features over 6,000 animals including 40 threatened species. And that includes Singapore’s resident giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia. With the pristine Upper Seletar Reservoir as a backdrop, River Safari is also home to the Giant Panda Forest, Squirrel Monkey Forest and the enchanting Amazon Flooded Forest.

It is worth noting that India's Ganges (called as Ganga in India) is mentioned as the River of Faith. Ganga is treated as a holy river and Hindus believe that a dip in this river helps one spiritually.

River Safari was a memorable experience for us.

Observe closely -- this is no aquatic animal; it is a man! He is the caretaker diving into the water to ensure that the inhabitants are well and healthy.

      2. The Ganga is one of the well-known rivers of the world and I was happy to see its inclusion in Singapore's portfolio of award-winning parks.
